MEET JOSHUA
Like many parents, I spend a lot of time thinking about the future. I think about the kind of community we are building for our children, the opportunities available to families, and what we can do today to make Gresham even stronger tomorrow.
As a father, a neighbor, and someone who has been given a second chance in life, I don't take those questions lightly.
My journey hasn't been a traditional one. I have experienced failure, addiction, and hardship. I've also experienced the power of faith, recovery, personal responsibility, and the support of people who refused to give up on me. Those experiences changed my life and shaped the way I see the world today.
They taught me that people are capable of incredible transformation. They taught me that hope matters. They taught me that strong communities are built when people step up to help one another.
JOSHUA’s PRIORITIES
A Vision Rooted in Hope
Joshua's campaign is built on a simple belief: people and communities are capable of remarkable change. Throughout his life, he has seen what happens when individuals are given hope, support, and the opportunity to move forward.
He believes Gresham's future is bright. By working together, addressing challenges honestly, and focusing on solutions rather than division, the community can create a safer, stronger, and more prosperous city for future generations.

Joshua believes Gresham families deserve a community where hard work is rewarded and people can afford to build a future. Rising housing costs, utility bills, groceries, and everyday expenses continue to put pressure on working families, seniors, and young people trying to get ahead.
As a City Councilor, Joshua will support policies that encourage responsible growth, expand housing opportunities, and reduce unnecessary barriers that drive up costs. He believes local government should focus on practical solutions that help families thrive while protecting the quality of life that makes Gresham a great place to live.

Every resident deserves to feel safe in their home, neighborhood, and local business district. Joshua supports fully funding public safety services and ensuring first responders have the resources they need to protect the community.
At the same time, Joshua understands that lasting public safety requires more than enforcement alone. Having experienced the power of accountability, personal responsibility, and second chances firsthand, he supports restorative justice programs that help individuals break destructive cycles, make amends, and become productive members of society. His goal is a safer Gresham where prevention, accountability, and opportunity work together to strengthen the community.

Joshua's life story gives him a unique perspective on homelessness and addiction. He knows these challenges are complex, deeply personal, and often devastating for individuals, families, and neighborhoods.
Joshua believes compassion and accountability must go hand in hand. He supports connecting people to treatment, recovery services, mental health resources, and pathways to stable housing while maintaining clear expectations for public safety and community standards. He knows recovery is possible because he has lived it, and he believes every person deserves the opportunity to rebuild their life when they are willing to take that first step.

Joshua believes local government works best when it listens to the people it serves. Residents deserve leaders who are accessible, transparent, and willing to have honest conversations about the challenges facing the community.
He is committed to bringing a citizen-focused approach to City Hall by encouraging public engagement, promoting transparency in decision-making, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly. Joshua believes elected officials should be accountable to the people, not special interests, and that trust is earned through consistent leadership and results.

A strong local economy creates opportunities for families, supports small businesses, and generates the resources needed to maintain essential city services. Joshua wants Gresham to be a place where entrepreneurs can succeed, businesses can grow, and residents can find good jobs close to home.
He supports efforts to attract investment, revitalize commercial areas, and promote Gresham as a destination for visitors and outdoor recreation. By highlighting the city's unique assets, supporting local businesses, and creating a welcoming environment for investment, Joshua believes Gresham can strengthen its economy while preserving the character and community spirit that make it special.
